1. The first step is to open the Google Sheet Response Sheet linked to your Google Form and click Tools.

2. Click Macros►
|
3. Click Record macro
|
4. Set the desired formatting parameters for the Sheet, including sorting columns, wrapping and aligning text, etc.

5. Decide whether you would like the formatting rules you selected to apply only to the Sheet (tab) currently selected (Use absolute references) or to all Sheets (tabs) within the document (Use relative references) by selecting the dial button.

6. Click Save when you have finished all of the formatting steps you wish to apply to the Sheet

7. Type a Name for your macro. (This can be anything.)
|
8. Click Save
|
9. Click the EDIT SCRIPT box that will appear in the lower left corner. If this pop-up disappears, you can also go to the Tools menu and select Script Editor. |
10. From the pop-up tab that will appear, click Edit
|
11. Select Current project's triggers
|
12. From the new pop-up tab that will appear, click Add Trigger
|
13. Scroll down and click On open to activate the "Select event type" dropdown menu.
|
14. From the dropdown menu, select On form submit, as this ensures that the formatting of your Google Sheet will update itself each time a new response is registered on the Google Form.

15. Click Save
|
16. In the pop-up box, select your Google account
|
17. Scroll down and click Allow
|
18. You're done. From this point onward, your Google Sheet will automatically format as each new Google Form submission registers. |
