1. Rubrics can be added to grade Discussions and Assignments. You can even add them to a grade item or a quiz question. In this tutorial, we'll look at grading an Assignment using an OAKS Rubric. Note: this only works with rubrics created in OAKS. |
2. If you need to know how to add an OAKS Rubric to an Assignment or Discussion, please see the individual tutorials for those tools. This tutorial will only cover how to grade using the Rubric. Click Grades |
3. Click Assignments |
4. Click the dropdown arrow next to the assignment to grade. |
5. Click View Submissions |
6. Scroll and click Evaluate or in this case, Draft Saved, next to the student you want to grade. |
7. Open the assignment as your normally would to grade it by clicking on the assignment name from the left. |
8. To the far right, click on the rubric to open it. |
9. Click on the rating you wish to give the student on the first criteria. |
10. A checkmark will appear if you've done it correctly. |
11. You can add text feedback specific to this criterion if desired. Click Add Feedback to open the feedback box. |
12. Type in your feedback and hit Enter or Return on your keyboard. |
13. Repeat for the remaining criteria. |
14. When finished, you'll see the calculation of the Total Score as well as an Overall Score Level. |
15. OAKS will then convert the rubric score to match the assignment score and add that into the Overall Grade area that can be pushed to the Grade Book. |
16. When finished, click Publish or Update to publish the score. |
17. That's it. You're done. |
