1. Replacement Strings allows instructors to customize course content and communications by incorporating the intended learner's personalized information, such as their name, automatically. They are used in all tools that use HTML Editor and Email. |
2. This example is in the Announcements tool but it will work the same in any tool that uses the HTML editor. Click the dropdown arrow next to Announcements. |
3. Click Go to Announcements Tool |
4. In the body, message or Content field, type in the Replacement String EXACTLY as it appears in the list below. In this example I chose the String for the First name of the user. Click here for a list of all available Replacement Strings. |
5. This is what the user with the first name "Laura" would see in Announcements when they open the course. The Replacement Strings use the names from the Classlist. |
