1. The first step is to open OAKS and click Grades dropdown |
2. Click Grades |
3. Click New |
4. Adding grade categories can be helpful to organize grade items, especially if there are a lot of grade items. This makes understanding your class grade book easier for your students, and yourself as well. Click Category |
5. Click Name |
6. Type in the desired grade category Name and hit Enter or Return on your keyboard. |
7. Scroll down and click Save and Close for this category. |
8. Here, you will see the new category that was created. Lets go now and create another category, but this time we will make it set to automatically drop the lowest grade item in the category. This is useful for weekly quizzes/assignments if desired. |
9. At the top, click New. |
10. Click Category |
11. Click Name and type the name of the desired category, then click Enter or Return on your keyboard. |
12. Scroll down and click the box to Distribute Points Across All Items. All assignments will need to be the same point value for this to work. |
13. Set the points per item, and then decide how many of the lowest or highest non-bonus item would be dropped. Lowest is typical for this, and we will use 1 item to be dropped for this example. Type 1 next to Number of lowest non-bonus items to drop... |
14. Click Save and Close |
15. Here is our new category that is set to drop the lowest grade item that is non-bonus. That's it! You're done. |
